Top Purchasing Consultants - IT and Software - Interim

For our client, large international insurance organisation we are looking for experienced Purchasing Consultants,
to support the harmonisation IT & Telecom Infrastructure in a project lasting till End of 2010 or later.
MISSION
Reporting to the European Director of IT & Telecom Procurement, Procurement Consultant dedicated to IT Data Center Software Consolidation will deal with over 1000 software contracts/ renegotiate and close current contracts.
In particular the Procurement consultants/contractors is expected to:

Execute the European IT & Telecom Procurement strategy in line with the requirements of the harmonisation project.
|
|
|
Provide best-in-class Procurement services
|
|
|
Provide governance to ensure effective application of policies related to Procurement within European Organisation
|
|
|
Manage IT expenditure and drive quick wins & annual savings targets
|
|
|
Work with local Operational teams and European procurement team in a complex and fast moving environment to achieve savings goals & objectives
|
|
|
Be involved and lead some European-wide or Worldwide procurement projects / initiatives
|
REQUIREMENTS
In particular we are looking for individuals that fulfill some or most of the following requirements:

University or College Degree in the relevant field, MBA is an additional asset
|
|
|
Minimum 10 years of Purchasing experience in a blue chip company with a focus on IT / Software Procurement.
|
|
|
Good working knowledge of software management and managing legal intellectual property aspects.
|
|
|
Detailed knowledge of procurement cycle activity
|
|
|
Detailed knowledge of supplier selection methodologies
|
|
|
Experience of change management/major project delivering business benefits
|
|
|
Strong leadership and negotiation and communication skills
|
|
|
Fluent knowledge of English, other languages are additional asset
|
|
|
